Netflix has emerged victorious in a high-stakes bidding war, announcing an Acquisition Deal that positions the streaming giant to purchase Warner Bros. and HBO in a move poised to reshape Hollywood.

The landmark transaction, valued at $72 billion plus debt, marks one of the most significant power shifts in the entertainment industry’s modern era.

On Friday morning, Netflix confirmed it had reached a definitive agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) to acquire Warner Bros.’ iconic film and television studios, as well as HBO Max and HBO.

The cash-and-stock agreement values the deal at $27.75 per WBD share, representing a total enterprise value of $82.7 billion. According to Netflix, the merger will “create more opportunities for the creative community” and expand global access to Warner Bros.’ storied content library.
