Within the past 24 hours, the 2024 presidential election has seen significant developments. While former UN ambassador Nikki Haley won the Republican Party's Vermont primary yesterday, former President Trump carried the remaining 14 states that voted during Super Tuesday.

On the Democratic side, Joe Biden handily prevailed in most states and territories where voters cast ballots. His then-challenger, Dean Phillips, has not won a single state - or delegate - since the primaries began.

Despite polls that show most people across the country don't want another rematch of Joe Biden vs. Donald Trump, this is all but certain to be the makeup of November's general election.

Hours ago, both Nikki Haley and Dean Phillips terminated their campaigns to become the 47th president of the United States.

The end of Haley's presidential run

During a press conference earlier this morning, the now-former GOP hopeful declared the time had arrived to discontinue her campaign. This came on the heels of Haley vowing to remain in the race until at least Super Tuesday.

Despite ending her run for the White House, Haley declined to endorse former President Trump; this sets her apart from other previous GOP candidates - such as DeSantis, Scott, and Ramaswamy - who ended up backing the ex-president.

Instead, Haley proclaimed the onus now lies on Trump to earn the support of voters - both in and out of the Republican Party - who oppose him. This could be a tall order, as many Haley supporters have stated they won't vote for the former president in a general election.

Others even said if Trump wins the GOP nomination, they'll back Biden in November.

The end of Phillips' presidential run

Like Haley, Phillips suspended his White House campaign earlier today. Though while Haley refused to endorse Trump, Phillips did, in fact, throw his support behind Biden.

The Minnesota congressman referenced his past history of working and spending time with the current president. In doing so, Phillips also praised Biden as "OUR" opportunity and candidate who can show the best of America.

In wrapping up his remarks, the former opponent to Biden called upon Haley supporters, uncommitted voters, and even Trump supporters to help the current president secure a second term.
