The Robreno Odyssey: From Havana to U.S. Federal Judge

Robreno’s journey reads like a gripping tale. Uprooted from Havana in the wake of the 1959 Cuban Revolution, he was a part of the Operation Peter Pan, a secret mission that brought thousands of Cuban children to the U.S. His educational journey, spanning Westfield State College to Rutgers Law School, culminated in a role at the U.S. Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division.

His voice, laden with pride in a 2014 interview, once said, “Representing the United States of America in court is both a metaphorical honor and a profound responsibility.”
