Ukraine Forces Strike against the Koltsevoy pipeline overnight into Saturday, in what Kyiv is calling one of its most damaging attacks yet on Russian military infrastructure. The massive pipeline, spanning 250 miles and supplying Moscow’s troops with up to 60 million barrels of gas, diesel, and jet fuel, was left crippled after all three lines were destroyed.

Ukraine’s military intelligence described the operation as a “serious blow” to Russia’s war machine. Kyrylo Budanov, the head of Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate, said on Telegram that Kyiv’s actions have surpassed international sanctions in weakening Russia’s energy and defense sectors.

“Our strikes have had more impact than sanctions,” Budanov declared. “We caused much greater damage to the Russian Federation through direct action than any economic levers of influence that had been introduced on them until now.”

A Strategic Shift in Ukraine’s War Tactics

The Koltsevoy strike is part of a wider campaign to disrupt the logistical backbone of Russia’s military. According to Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU), the country has conducted nearly 160 successful strikes on oil facilities across Russia this year.
