Edinburgh Airport recently celebrated a significant uptick in revenue, reporting £272 million in 2023—a 40% increase from the previous year. This financial upswing sets a positive backdrop for Vinci’s upcoming managerial undertakings.

This acquisition will mark Vinci’s third freehold airport in the U.K., following its purchases of Belfast International in 2018 and London Gatwick in 2019. Vinci operates an extensive network of over 70 airports globally, emphasizing its robust presence in the international aviation sector.

Further highlighting its operational success, Vinci reported a substantial passenger throughput of more than 62 million in the first quarter of the year across its airports, marking a 12% increase from the previous year. Overall, the company enjoyed a revenue boost, with €69.6 billion ($74.0 billion) recorded for 2023, up 11.8% from 2022.
