Amazon Workers Military Leave Class

Current and former Amazon workers have rallied before a Washington federal court, urging the approval of a class that could encompass an astonishing 15,000 individuals. This vast assembly is poised to spearhead a lawsuit that accuses Amazon of wrongfully demoting or terminating workers who took time off for military service. According to these determined employees, their allegations pivot on Amazon’s companywide policies, and they are pushing for justice.

A Pivotal Motion for Class Certification

In a recent legal development, former Amazon worker Yasmine Mahone and the current operations manager, Brandon Tole, have filed a motion for class certification. This motion aims to create a class comprising both past and present Amazon employees who have served or are currently serving in the military. Mahone and Tole have been driving the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) lawsuit against the e-commerce behemoth, and their cause survived Amazon’s attempt to dismiss the suit in April.
