Despite the unclear circumstances of Russell’s disappearance, Harris stated that she would repeat her actions without hesitation.

Responding to Missing Persons: A Mission of Angela Harris’ Nonprofit

Named after her daughter, Aniah Blanchard, who tragically was abducted and murdered nearly four years ago, Aniah’s Heart was integral in the search for Russell. Harris opened up on Friday about the organization’s role in the puzzling disappearance of the young woman.

In a Facebook Live video, Harris expressed satisfaction that Russell had been returned to her family, regardless of the circumstances of her disappearance. “Our nonprofit is dedicated to helping bring people home,” Angela Harris asserted, underscoring the primary mission of Aniah’s Heart.

Russell’s enigmatic disappearance occurred eight days ago after she allegedly stopped on Interstate 459 to assist a toddler walking alone. A concerted effort by the police and numerous volunteers, including Angela Harris and her nonprofit, was launched to locate the missing 25-year-old. After a rigorous 48-hour search, Russell eventually reappeared at her family home and was subsequently taken to UAB Hospital for an overnight evaluation.

Hoover police offered some insight into the situation, stating there was no imminent danger to the community. The police investigation failed to corroborate the alleged sighting of a toddler alone on the interstate. Chief Nick Derzis pointed out that prior to her disappearance, Russell had been looking up Amber Alerts and the movie “Taken.”
