CBS news reported that a planned American Freedom Convoy of truckers will try to blockade the Super Bowl on Sunday.
The Department of Homeland Security issued a bulletin to US law enforcement agencies warning of anti-vaccine protests “potentially impacting Super Bowl LVI” on 13 February, and the 1 March State of the Union address in Washington, where the mooted convoy is likely to arrive.
Posts on social media indicate that American truckers are trying to organize a nationwide convoy led by truckers to America. They are “March to Freedom Convoy to DC 2022.”
In numerous posts to a Facebook group called “Convoy to DC,” organizers say the demonstration will begin from two locations in California on March 1st and make its way across the country ending in the nation’s capital.
The protesters want to rally support for ending all COVID-19-related mandates and restrictions in the U.S.
Freedom Convoys in France
Authorities are preparing for a French version of the Freedom Convoy trucker protests over COVID-19 restrictions in Europe. Seven thousand cops were deployed in Paris on Friday to try to prevent convoys from growing the momentum they have in Canada.
