Chinese officials are claiming that foreign nations have not only infiltrated their laboratories to steal vital biodiversity data but have also harnessed AI-driven genetic engineering biological weapons. And they now have the capability to create weapons that target specific ethnic groups.

Concerns are going public about how easy it is to conceal and the long-term harm of these so-called genetic weapons. They represent a challenging potential threat.

The Ministry of State Security’s announcement on WeChat underscored the covert activities of certain non-governmental organizations, which recruited Chinese “volunteers” to collect biodiversity distribution data while posing as biological species researchers.
