Secret Negotiations Exposed in Court Filings
According to explosive court documents, Pitt’s legal team has uncovered evidence of what they characterize as duplicitous conduct by Jolie during the sale process. The filings reveal that on March 30, 2021, a lawyer representing the Stoli Group contacted Jolie’s California-based divorce attorney to inquire about purchasing her stake in the winery.
What followed, according to Pitt’s allegations, was a carefully orchestrated deception. “Throughout May 2021, while Jolie was still purporting to negotiate with Pitt and Mark Perrin [Brad’s partner in Miraval], Stoli and Jolie continued to negotiate in secret,” the court filing states.
The documents further allege that Jolie’s “transactional counsel” provided detailed feedback to Stoli negotiators, including insider information about “what it would take for Stoli to beat Pitt’s offer.” This intelligence, seemingly gleaned from ongoing discussions with Pitt, allegedly gave the Stoli Group an unfair advantage in securing the deal.
