Hutchinson’s testimony, which alleges that Trump attempted to seize control of the presidential limo’s steering wheel and engaged in a physical altercation with his lead Secret Service agent, has been met with skepticism by some.
The driver testified to the Jan. 6 committee “that he specifically refuted the version of events as recounted by Hutchinson,” the report says. “The driver of the SUV testified that he ‘did not see him reach [redacted]. [President Trump] never grabbed the steering wheel. I didn’t see him, you know, lunge to try to get into the front seat at all.'”
The report indicates that while some witnesses acknowledged Trump’s irate mood following a speech at the Ellipse, no one has substantiated the more sensational claims made by Hutchinson.
January 6 Report
In a letter to Representative Barry Loudermilk in January, Jordan affirmed Hutchinson’s commitment to truthfulness and her refusal to be swayed by pressure campaigns aimed at discrediting her testimony.
She also released a book of the events.
