Last night, Joe Biden won the New Hampshire Democratic primary, despite not being officially on the ballot. The president won via write-in candidacy, leaving many to question whether or not his opponents should remain in the election.
On social media, Biden supporters, in particular, routinely call for rivals like Minnesota Rep. Dean Phillips to drop out of the race and subsequently get behind Biden. Phillips, however, has campaigned warning that the president is losing support amongst the electorate and on track to being bested by Donald Trump in November’s general race.
In the Granite State, the congressman ultimately walked away with roughly 20% of the vote. Despite Biden’s win, this indicates that some voters within the Democrat Party have an appetite for a new leader.
Following last night’s primary, Phillips made it absolutely clear that he’s staying in the race and will campaign in the South Carolina primary.
