First Lady Melania Trump lashed out at Democrats and presidential nominee Joe Biden whom she accused of being a proponent of the radical left’s agenda and politicizing the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
“When rioters and looters were burning our cities and wrecking small businesses that belong to hard-working families and bring jobs to our communities, where were the Democrats?” the first lady told the crowd of about 250 attendees, most of whom were wearing masks, she said as reported by CNN Monday.y
Pres. Trump delivered this version of her stump speech in North Carolina similar to the ones she delivered in her solo campaign stops in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.
Meanwhile, First Lady Melania praised the President’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“On Tuesday, I am asking that you continue to put your trust in our president. We’ve had three and a half years of winning. Let’s have another four,” said First Lady Melania.
First Lady Melania claims the media and the Democrats are politicizing the pandemic
First Lady Melania assailed Biden and his Democrat allies for trying to politicize COVID-19 and vaccine efforts and ignoring “rioters and looters burning our cities.”
“Why should we trust Joe Biden when he suggests he can do a better job?” she said. “All you have to do is look back on his 47 years in political life to determine whether you think he is suddenly capable of putting the American people first.”
As she criticized his husband’s political opponents, the first lady also railed against the press for being “divisive” during the pandemic outbreak.
“The Democrats, together with the media, have attempted to make Covid-19 the most politically charged, polarizing, and divisive topic of the last decade. Instead of working with our administration to unify and protect our nation, they only sought to attack us,” she said.
Coronavirus cases in the country are surging yet again, with the US reporting 99,321 new cases last week –– the highest single-day number of cases recorded for any country.
Before going back to the White House, First Lady Melania is set to vote in person on Tuesday morning in Palm Beach, Florida, where she is registered.
