Disney Locks In Its Beloved Stars for Two More Films
The trio—who voice Anna, Elsa, and Olaf—have long been considered the heart of Disney’s most valuable animated franchise. The new deal marks a dramatic pay increase from the $15 million each earned for Frozen 2, a monumental box-office success that grossed $1.4 billion worldwide, following the first film’s $1.3 billion haul.

“These deals are extraordinary even by franchise standards,” one executive familiar with the negotiations told TheWrap. Another emphasized that the compensation is not a single lump-sum windfall but is paid over several years, tied to production milestones and box-office performance.
Each actor will reportedly receive around $20 million upfront, with significant bonus payouts attached to financial success.
Jennifer Lee Returns to Direct Frozen 3
The powerhouse behind the original films, Jennifer Lee, will return to direct Frozen 3 with filmmaker Trent Correy, who co-created the 2023 Disney short Once Upon a Studio. Longtime producer Peter Del Vecho, along with Oscar-winning songwriting duo Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, are also returning. The Frozen franchise continues to be one of Disney’s most profitable global properties. This includes films, music, Broadway, theme parks, cruises, and live touring shows. Inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Snow Queen,” the 2013 original became a worldwide cultural phenomenon thanks to its iconic characters and the smash-hit song “Let It Go.” “Frozen fever took hold, and it never really went away,” a studio insider joked. The series later expanded to Broadway, where the Frozen musical opened in 2018. Though it closed in 2021 due to the pandemic, tours continued across North America and London’s West End.
