Top-Tier Legal Power Behind the Buyout

The high-stakes deal is being steered by a roster of legal heavyweights:

  • Paul Hastings LLP is advising Heidrick, led by Global M&A Co-Chair Eduardo Gallardo and partner Andrew Goodman.

  • Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP is guiding the buyers, led by Michael J. Aiello and Sachin Kohli.

  • Ropes & Gray LLP is also advising the consortium, with a team including Christian Westra, Matt Richards, Tom Fraser, Adam Greenwood, and Ruchit Patel.

Financial firepower is being provided through debt financing from Deutsche Bank, UBS Investment Bank, and Santander, with BofA Securities acting as exclusive financial adviser to Heidrick, while William Blair, Deutsche Bank, and UBS counsel the buying group.

Heidrick’s Leadership to Stay the Course

Despite the ownership change, Heidrick & Struggles will retain its leadership lineup, including CEO Tom Monahan and President Tom Murray. The firm will continue offering its signature suite of services — executive search, leadership assessment, consulting, and interim talent solutions.

Monahan expressed optimism about the company’s next chapter:

“The consortium’s collective expertise and resources will accelerate our ability to forge deeper, more durable client relationships — ensuring Heidrick remains the firm where the best people do their best work,” he said.

The consortium also plans to launch a new equity program for partners and leaders to enhance retention and attract top talent, signaling confidence in the firm’s long-term growth trajectory.
