Ignite Lawsuit: Bilzerian vs. His Former Company

Bilzerian’s legal troubles did not end with the social media dispute.

 Shareholders of Ignite, the cannabis company he once controlled, successfully petitioned a British Columbia judge to order him to surrender its Instagram login. Their lawsuit claimed that Bilzerian’s antisemitic social media posts were tarnishing Ignite’s brand.

Despite losing control of the company, Bilzerian fought back, filing in the BC Supreme Court to reclaim ownership. However, the court ruled against him. Ignite, already under scrutiny for alleged securities fraud, removed him from leadership.

On October 30, 2024, a BC Supreme Court judge ordered Bilzerian to turn over the Instagram account. He refused. By February 2025, Justice Michael Tammen found Bilzerian in contempt of court and fined him $10,000.
