The chilling Gilgo Beach serial killings have been casting a grim shadow over the Long Island community for over a decade. Anthony Carter, Suffolk County Deputy Police Commissioner and a leading investigator on the task force, provided some insights into the heinous acts and their prime suspect, Rex Heuermann, whom he chillingly referred to as a ‘demon’.
In a recent conversation with CNN, Carter described the nature of the crimes, “It’s a struggle to penetrate the mind of a person capable of perpetrating such atrocities. He did exactly what he intended to do to the victims, making these acts among the most horrifying I’ve ever witnessed.”
New Developments in the Investigation
New York-based architect, Rex Heuermann, 59, was apprehended last Thursday in connection with the Gilgo Beach serial killings. He has been charged with the murder of three out of the four women, infamously referred to as the “Gilgo Four.” Despite pleading not guilty and being held in custody, prosecutors suggest he remains the “prime suspect” in a fourth murder.
