IRS Whistleblower testified

Garland has claimed publicly he gave Weiss full control and authority to file charges. But Weiss allegedly told IRS agents that his hands were being tied in the case.

“So, I mean, my understanding is that I mean, he can’t make that decision without DOJ Tax authorization,” Batdorf said.

Batdorf’s testimony highlighted potentially new dimensions of alleged corruption. Weiss’s decision to remove Gary Shapley from the case. This raised questions about the motives behind this personnel change. Shapley later became a whistleblower.

Furthermore, Batdorf highlighted the Department of Justice’s treatment of Hunter Biden, suggesting that it seemed to favor the president’s son. This preference translated into Hunter Biden’s legal team enjoying significantly more opportunities to engage with the DOJ’s tax division than the average individual would typically receive. This access allowed Hunter to present his case, potentially influencing the outcome of the investigation.
