The documentary also attempts to link Combs to the 1997 murder of rapper Christopher Wallace, better known as The Notorious B.I.G., despite lacking any factual basis, the lawsuit argues.

“A Modern-Day Witch Hunt,” Says Combs’ Legal Team

Combs’ attorneys claim the film maliciously weaves together conspiracy theories and social media speculation to paint their client as a criminal mastermind. The lawsuit criticizes the use of anonymized comments and clips from a known conspiracy theorist, arguing that the film’s producers were more interested in creating a viral sensation than uncovering the truth.

“By falsely portraying Mr. Combs as a serial killer and sexual predator—with zero credible evidence—NBC, Peacock, and Ample Entertainment have engaged in the worst kind of sensationalism,” said Erica Wolff of Sher Tremonte LLP, one of Combs’ attorneys.

NBC, Peacock Accused of Exploiting Public Scandal

The suit alleges that the timing of the documentary was deliberate, aiming to capitalize on public interest ahead of Combs’ scheduled May 5 trial on sex trafficking charges. According to the lawsuit, the documentary presents already-discredited allegations as if they were fresh evidence, further tarnishing Combs’ reputation.
