A powerful Nor’easter has brought widespread flooding, high winds, and dangerous surf to the Jersey Shore, Massachusetts, and North Carolina, with the National Weather Service (NWS) warning that additional rounds of moderate to major flooding remain likely through Monday evening.

As of early Monday morning, major flooding was reported along the oceanfront in Atlantic City, Barnegat Bay in Barnegat Light, and Great Egg Harbor Bay in Ocean City, New Jersey. Numerous roads have been closed due to rising water levels, including all lanes on the Black Horse Pike (U.S. 40) in Egg Harbor Township, and the White Horse Pike from Illinois Avenue in Absecon to Indiana Avenue in Atlantic City.
