In a harrowing incident of gun violence, a north Columbus shooting left one individual in critical condition on Sunday night, stirring concern in the local community.
The Incident on Tacoma Road
The shooting transpired around 9:53 p.m. in the Salem Village neighborhood, specifically in the 5700 block of Tacoma Road, near State Route 161. Columbus police recount that a 27-year-old man became the unfortunate victim of this north Columbus shooting after he ventured outside his apartment complex to investigate the source of gunfire he heard.
The Victim and the Investigation
Police reports suggest an unidentified individual was discharging bullets across a pond, and the victim was struck in the stomach. The north Columbus shooting also resulted in two other apartments in the same complex being hit by bullets, though no additional injuries were reported. The victim was promptly transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital, where he is expected to recover from his injuries.
