On Thursday, President Donald Trump traveled to Missouri to campaign for GOP Senate candidate Josh Hawley, reports Fox News.
An Overview of President Trump’s Support for Hawley
During the president’s time in Missouri, he urged supporters to cast their votes for Hawley in the upcoming midterm elections.
“I need everyone to show up and vote, you’ve got to vote for Josh. He’s a star in our country. He is going to be something special. He’s going to represent you for a long time and he’s going to represent you well.”
Trump also referred to Hawley as a “Missouri patriot” before criticizing the latter’s Democrat opponent Claire McCaskill.
“Claire McCaskill promised to represent the people of Missouri. She broke that promise and joined radical Democrats in Washington. She’s not representing Missouri.”
Similarly to the president, Hawley also spoke about McCaskill and censured her political track record.
