Weir completes acquisition of Townley

Weir Group PLC announced Friday it has officially completed the acquisition of Townley Engineering & Manufacturing Co. Inc. and Townley Foundry & Machine Co. Inc. in a transaction valued at £111 million ($150 million), a move set to strengthen its foothold across North America’s mining and infrastructure markets.

The FTSE 100-listed engineering powerhouse first unveiled the deal in June, revealing plans to fund the purchase entirely through debt. With the ink now dry, the acquisition underscores Weir’s intent to deepen its reach in minerals processing solutions.

What Townley Brings to the Table

Based in Florida, Townley specializes in minerals processing products, offering a range of critical tools such as slurry pumps, valves, and rubber hoses. These products are considered the backbone of mining operations, ensuring efficiency and durability in some of the harshest environments.
