According to a study by Florida International University detectives have a 66% higher chance of identifying suspects in violent crimes when using AI tools.

 Miami's assistant police chief, Armando Aguilar, stated, “Before AI, the police department was only able to arrest suspects in 45% of murders and less than 38% of violent crimes. However, after it started using the technology in 2023, it solved 68% of the murders that occurred that year and 58% of the violent crimes.”

Addressing domestic violence and other emergencies, AI-powered emergency call systems are transforming response times. A UK-based startup, Untrite AI, developed an innovative tool using two years of historical 911 call data from Humberside Police.

Kamila Hankiewicz, co-founder and CEO of Untrite, explains, "We set out to build an assistant for operators to make their jobs slightly easier because it is a high-stress and time-sensitive environment. The AI model analyses the transcript and audio of the call, producing a triaging score. A high score means that a police officer must be on the scene within five or 10 minutes.”
