In an uncanny twist mirroring a theatrical drama, a Washington, D.C., resident bearing the same name as the famed Founding Father of yesteryears, Alexander Hamilton, made an admission that has everyone on edge: he secretly filmed jury proceedings and disseminated the confidential content for all to witness.

28-year-old Alexander Hamilton confessed in a D.C. federal court that he was guilty of filming clandestine grand jury sessions from the D.C. Superior Court.

He delved deep, unearthing the intricacies of as many as 14 separate criminal investigations, some even pertaining to cold-blooded murders.

While most of his recordings were mere audio captures, the boldness of his actions peaked when he filmed a fellow juror, unwittingly exposing them to the world.

Drawing a page from his digital playbook, Hamilton skillfully sneaked one of his two mobile phones into the grand jury chamber at the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia.

This act was in blatant defiance of court orders that mandated the safekeeping of electronic gadgets in designated lockers.

As if to add fuel to fire, Hamilton audaciously broadcast some recordings in real-time on Instagram while storing others for future revelations.

Hamilton's wave of audacity crashed in November 2022. The Metropolitan Police Department stumbled upon his brash public Instagram profile, boasting a following of over 10,000 netizens.

The U.S. attorney's office, acting swiftly, recognized him from the Superior Court's grand jury assembly from September 2.

The audacity didn't end there.

Upon being anointed as a grand juror on September 9, 2022, Hamilton dared to record himself.

He mockingly declared, "I'm about to lie," all while ostensibly preparing to swear an oath.

His recordings, a perplexing mixture of audacity and bravado, focused on 18 witnesses. But they weren't bland.

They were embellished with tantalizing imagery of rats or comments alluding to "snitches." His idea of a PSA? Advising his vast followers against talking on jail calls.

The Road Ahead

As the labyrinth of justice starts to close in on Hamilton, he's not without allies.

Defending him is the adept Edward Smock from the Office of the Federal Public Defender for the District of Columbia.

Standing on the opposite side is the resolute Joshua Adam Gold from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the same district.

Prosecutors, in an olive branch of sorts, have proposed a plea deal: a maximum prison sentence of three years, strikingly below the typical sentencing guidelines.
