Angela Chao: Investigation Surrounding CEO’s Death

Chao was the sister of Elaine Chao, who is married to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. Elaine Chao served as labor secretary under former President George W. Bush and transportation secretary under former President Donald Trump.

 Beyond her corporate responsibilities, Angela’s influence extended to numerous board positions. This included the American Bureau of Shipping Council, the Bank of China, and the Metropolitan Opera.

Her involvement in philanthropic endeavors, notably as a founding advisory council co-chair of The Asian American Foundation, underscored her commitment to fostering positive change and bridging cultural divides.

Investigation of her Death

Situated approximately 30 miles west of Austin, Blanco County serves as the backdrop for this tragedy. Her death took place in what is known locally as “Hill Country” a largely rural area best known for its serene beauty. 

The intensity of the ongoing investigation is sending shockwaves through the local community.

Blanco County authorities issued a short statement about her death. Her body was found still in her car in a private lake.
