“KCPD detectives never stopped working on the case, waiting for all the facts to come in. Reaching this point is a testament to their dedication to delivering justice for the victims and their loved ones,” said Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves.

Timeline of the Tragedy

Willis was a longtime friend of Clayton McGeeney, 37; Ricky Johnson, 38; and David Harrington, 36. The three men visited Willis’ home in Kansas City on January 7, 2024, to watch the Chiefs play the Los Angeles Chargers.

Two days later, McGeeney’s fiancée discovered their bodies in Willis’ backyard after an exhaustive search. Family members reported that Willis was unresponsive to phone calls and did not answer his door in the days following the deaths.

Willis, however, told authorities that he was unaware his friends had died outside his home and had not been contacted by their loved ones.

Victims Found Frozen

Preliminary autopsy results revealed that fentanyl, cocaine, and marijuana were in the deceased men’s systems. Despite this, their families have raised concerns about Willis’ involvement, with some considering legal action.
