On Friday, former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon shared his predictions for the upcoming 2020 elections, reports The Hill.

An Overview of Bannon's Statements

Bannon shared the following remarks during his segment on 'Real Time with Bill Maher:'

"You’re gonna have Trump on the right, a politician. [Then] maybe a Kamala Harris or somebody on the left. I think you’ll have a Bloomberg or a Romney or somebody in the center."

Bannon also compared the characteristics of democratic-socialist Bernie Sanders and left-leaning attorney Michael Avenatti:

"If Bernie Sanders had an ounce of Avenatti’s fearlessness, he would have been the Democratic nominee. We would have had a much tougher time beating him."

Bannon then stated that Avenatti is "fearless" and a "fighter." The former White House chief strategist furthermore predicted that Avenatti will "go through a lot of this field" if he proceeds with political endeavors.

Michael Avenatti has publicly mulled over the notion of running for president. The attorney subsequently rose to fame following his representation of adult film actress Stormy Daniels.

At this point and time, midterm elections are currently at the forefront of American politics. However, the 2020 election is quickly becoming part of more and more conversations.

Since President Trump has already affirmed that he will seek re-election, Democrats are looking for viable contenders to take him on in the upcoming presidential race. Names like Cory Booker, Kirsten Gillibrand, and Kamala Harris have come up. Earlier today, Elizabeth Warren stated that after midterms, she will consider running for president.

Over the past year, the civility in U.S. politics has seriously declined. Americans on both sides of the aisle have noted the rampant extremism; both parties seem to be going further and further to either the left or the right. Certain commentators have warned that radicalism could put off voters who are moderates, centrists, or Independents.

Whether or not Bannon's predictions come to fruition ultimately remains to be seen. To this day, Republicans and Democrats remain as the two major political parties in America. Many people in this country believe that midterms will significantly impact the 2020 election.
