Marieangela said she was concerned about Cher being named conservator. She said Elijah is one of the beneficiaries of his late father’s trust … and contrary to Cher’s petition, Elijah has many assets such as our vehicle, and items in storage such as artwork, antiques, furniture from our previous home in Beverly Hills, analog music equipment, guitars and other property.”

Further, she claimed Cher had “unlawfully” held Elijah’s piano that was gifted from his father.

“Elijah’s father, the late musician Gregory Allman, also gifted to Elijah Mr. Allman's Yamaha baby grand piano when Elijah was young. [Cher] has been unlawfully holding this valuable antique in her possession for many years,” Marieangela said in her statement.

Marieangela also revealed the trustee of Elijah’s dad’s trust is withholding his quarterly mandatory payments “pending the” hearing on the conservatorship.

Defending Elijah Blue Allman

Allman's lawyers contended that he is currently in a positive state, attending meetings, receiving treatment, and mending relationships, including with his estranged wife.

They celebrated the court's decision, emphasizing his strong support system and progress. Cher's concerns about his apparent sobriety were dismissed, with Allman and his attorneys maintaining that the allegations were unfounded.

As Cher's plea for a court conservatorship for Elijah Blue Allman faces rejection, the case raises questions about the delicate balance between protecting individuals and respecting their autonomy. 

Court Conservatorship Controversies

The court conservatorship request brings to light the broader issue of conservatorships, known as guardianships in some states.  In the case of Britney Spears her assets were gobbled up by attorneys, managers and family the very people that were supposed to be protecting her assets.

The controversial conservatorship imposed on Britney Spears in 2008, lasted nearly 14 years. During that time, she worked doing major tours and events and made over 100 million dollars. Sadly, at the end of her conservatorship, around 30 million was all that was left.
