Among the new disclosures is that Facebook gave the Feds access to a special portal. The Facebook Content Request System allowed them to look at the platform and quickly censor whatever they wanted.
Big tech Censorship kept secret by DHS
A report appearing in The Intercept is based on several solid sources. This includes Department of Homeland Security (DHS) “memos, emails, and documents” over several years. Some of the evidence was acquired through an open records lawsuit. There are also available public documents involved. And most importantly leaked documents.
The documents are clear evidence that there has been a massive effort by DHS to stop the spread of whatever it considers being “misinformation.”
DHS working with Facebook and Twitter claims they are only removing content shared “with harmful intent and likely without context.”
Disinformation Board rejected
In April 2022, DHS announced it was forming the Disinformation Governance Board. And it was supposed to protect the “national security” of the U.S.
