As the federal tax investigation continues into Hunter Biden, President Biden’s son, two Internal Revenue Service (IRS) whistleblowers testified publicly to the House Republicans on Wednesday for the first time. The whistleblowers, Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler, expressed their concerns that the Justice Department constrained the tax investigation and hindered the probe into leads potentially implicating President Biden.
Hunter Biden’s Pending Guilty Plea
Hunter Biden is slated to admit guilt to misdemeanor tax charges as part of a plea deal next week. Despite this, both whistleblowers—part of the Biden IRS whistleblowers—are of the opinion that the evidence from the federal tax investigation substantiates more serious charges against him.
Joseph Ziegler: ‘Whistleblower X’
Before his public testimony, Ziegler, who has a 13-year tenure with the IRS and served as the primary case agent in the Hunter Biden investigation, was known as “Whistleblower X.” He equated the magnitude of his congressional testimony about the investigation to the immense personal challenge of revealing his sexual orientation. Ziegler, who has a professional background in criminal tax and money laundering cases, claimed he had compelling evidence suggesting that Hunter Biden inappropriately claimed business deductions on personal expenses, including his children’s tuition and hotel bills.
