The fast-fashion giant now demands the court halt Temu’s alleged misdeeds, pressing for the contested photos’ removal and a hefty compensation.

The Courtroom Saga Continues

This isn’t the duo’s first dance in the courtroom; they’ve exchanged legal blows before. Notably, Shein secured a temporary U.S. restraining order against Temu last July, amidst allegations of brand impersonation on social platforms.

Temu retaliated the same month, accusing Shein of monopolizing the market by strong-arming Chinese manufacturers to shun Temu.

Yet, Shein isn’t always the accuser. The company, introducing a staggering 6,000 new styles daily, has faced multiple copyright complaints from giants like Levi Strauss, Ralph Lauren, and H&M.

The plot thickens as three artists allege Shein’s intricate corporate web breaks federal law. Their charge? A “secretive algorithm” that allegedly sniffs out and replicates trending designs.

International Scrutiny Tightens

Mounting pressures are also emerging from global corridors of power. U.S. legislators raised eyebrows in June, pointing out Shein and Temu’s cunning exploitation of U.S. legal loopholes, dodging customs scrutiny and potential violations of the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act.
