In a shocking turn of events, three members of a well-known Muskogee Janway family, including an 11-year-old child, have tragically lost their lives in what the police suspect to be a murder-suicide.
The Ill-Fated Night of The Janway Family
On Monday night, Muskogee police received a frantic 911 call from 68-year-old Terry Janway, reporting a disturbance and the presence of a firearm. Responding to the call, law enforcement arrived at the scene to find a lifeless body sprawled in the hallway, right behind the front door.
As the officers proceeded to drag the body out of the home, the echo of gunshots from inside created a spine-chilling silence in the air, transforming an otherwise mundane neighborhood into a crime scene. Following protocol, officers called for any survivors to come out, and once reinforcements arrived, a thorough search of the home led to the discovery of two more deceased individuals.
Victims Identified
Terry Janway, the suspected shooter, her husband, 69-year-old Jack Janway, and their 11-year-old grandson, Dalton Janway, were identified as the victims. The unfortunate incident comes as a blow to the family’s daughter, Chandra Janway, who is married to renowned NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson.
Grief Stricken Community for the Janway family
The Janway family, known for their contributions to the Muskogee community, left its citizens in a state of bewilderment and sorrow. Jack Janway was a well-respected chiropractor, with many, including Muskogee Mayor Marlon Coleman, among his clientele.
