Women Discuss Voting For Kamala Harris in “Secret,” “Cancelling Out” Votes From Pro-Trump Husbands

On the r/AskWomenOver30 subreddit, one woman details that her once liberal husband has since shifted on the political spectrum after consuming “far right podcasts.” She then describes his anger “bubbling over” to the point of “demanding” to know who she cast a ballot for and later “yelling” at her once she told him.

Even more concerning, before this lady voted, she admittedly “hid” her ballot so her husband wouldn’t see it.

Make no mistake: if you are afraid of your spouse/partner learning who you cast a ballot for, you are not in a safe relationship.

Fear of your spouse knowing who you voted for is a major red flag

Unfortunately, cases like the above Reddit story are far from outliers. Across the internet, many women have discussed voting for not just Vice President Harris, but also other Democrats, in secret.

This goes beyond a mere disagreement on which candidate is fit for office. Instead, it shows that many women do not feel safe enough in their marriages to openly vote for the candidate of their choosing.
