Panya Niratimanon, the police chief of Koh Pha Ngan, said that Daniel Sancho Bronchalo admitted to the crime. And revealed that the victim and the suspect were in a relationship prior to their arrival in Thailand. This revelation, combined with the suspect's alleged "dubious activities," raises chilling questions about the motive behind the murder. Mr. Sancho reported his partner as missing after a night out at a full moon party with friends. Shortly after his report body parts—including hips, thighs, and even the victim's head—were found by locals at a landfill site on the island. It is alleged that the suspect dismembered the body into 14 pieces, disposing of them in various locations on the island. DNA tests have confirmed the identity of the remains as Dr. Edwin Arrieta Arteaga's, leading to charges of "premeditated murder and secretly moving or destroying a corpse to conceal a death or the cause of death" against Daniel Sancho Bronchalo. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are seeking to keep the suspect in custody. As the news continues to unfold, his family released a statement, requesting "maximum respect" for Daniel Sancho and their family during these bewildering times.
