Alphabet Inc. parent company of Google asked a federal judge to toss the DOJ’s lawsuit against Google. The company claims it is a “doomed case.’

The lawsuit accuses Google of monopolizing the technology used to buy and sell online advertising. And argues that the DOJ fabricated a market for the litigation, but still failed to show that the tech giant controls at least 70% of the marketplace.

The decisive step in Google’s legal battle against the Department of Justice (DOJ), filing a motion in a Virginia federal court to dismiss the antitrust lawsuit brought against it. The tech giant’s maneuver seeks to halt the DOJ’s allegations of monopolistic practices in digital advertising technologies, labeling the case as doomed from the start.
