(This leads one to wonder – what are these career legislators doing with their time if they are able to write up censures for using stationary inappropriately?)
“They let everyone off the hook. All these cowardly Senators [forcefully hit the podium] who couldn’t face up to what the president did – and what was at stake for our country are going to now have a chance to give a little slap on the wrist? We censure people for using stationary for the wrong purpose. We don’t censure people for inciting insurrection that kills people in the Capitol.
Madam Speaker then also called for an investigation to hunt for possible “Pro-Trump members of Congress that were accomplices to this insurrection, if they aided and abetted the crimes” she would push for prosecution. There was seemingly no conclusion to this investigation at the time of this writing.
Speaker Pelosi on Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene
Just two weeks prior, Pelosi was in a news conference condemning GOP leadership for not removing Marjorie Taylor Greene from her Education committee. Pelosi again, passionately exploded rather than provide the opportunity for the proper investigation to take place. Rep Greene, did in fact inappropriately post conspiracy-like remarks over a year before, and behaved in a manner unbecoming of a House Representative. Unfortunately, Pelosi felt the need to make a spectacle rather than allow procedural investigation and consequences to occur naturally.
