In recent years, crypto mining has become more available for people. For instance, a crypto miner has found a way to mine Shiba Inu (SHIB) from his computer at home. Before mining with computers, people used to rely on mining rigs instead.

Shiba Inu – a meme-based cryptocurrency has surged 74,314,968,49% year-to-date. The digital token’s price soared last month following rumors about Robinhood’s move to list it on its exchange.

On the other hand, Hai Dinho, a community college part-time student said that he always believed SHIB is highly speculative. However, the young entrepreneur decided to mine it himself. Dinho bought 2.5 million SHIB for the price of $100.

“But then I did the math for mining it. I’m able to achieve almost the same amount, around 1.5 million Shiba Inu within a four-month period on a really old laptop,” Dinho said.

However, before Shiba Inu, Dinho used to mine Ether. Mining cryptocurrency quickly became a hobby for him and he wanted to make the most out of it. Dinho used to laptops; a gaming PC with a GPU chip and another five-year-old HP CPU-based laptop. He then leveraged the two computers to mine SHIB.

How it started

In an interview with Business Insider, Dinho said that he used unmineable.com. The platform allowed him to download Windows-based software that mines several cryptocurrencies. However, the platform only supports Windows as of this writing.
