In official documents, it’s stated that Baldwin demonstrated “willful disregard” for the safety of the cinematographer, along with others on the movie set.
Furthermore, prosecutors stress that Baldwin failed to work appropriately with Gutierrez-Reed on safe gun handling. That’s on top of the actor not getting what prosecutors described as “required training” on guns.
It gets worse for Baldwin.
More information from prosecutors alleges they have “statements and evidence” proving the actor to be a no-show for mandatory gun training. This arrives despite additional training being requested of him ahead of “Rust” filming.
Not only was Baldwin an actor in the movie “Rust,” but he also worked as a producer. Prosecutors made note of this as well.
Additional documentation points out that even in his production work, Baldwin was negligent in dealing with the absence of mandatory safety meetings and in his choice to directly aim the firearm he held at Hutchins.
It’s not looking good for Baldwin
If the prosection’s case pans out in a court of law, Baldwin could spend up to 1.5 years behind bars. That will be for each count of involuntary manslaughter. He’ll additionally find himself facing $5,000 in fines for each of the two counts against him.
