Embracing an AI Armageddon?

In 2017, Elon Musk the current CEO of X, Tesla, Nueralink and SpaceX was warning that AI could lead to the destruction of the human race. And the super-entrepreneur is not the only one concerned. Stephen Hawking and other visionaries have been sounding the alarm for years.

During an appearance on the Logan Bartlett Show tech podcast, Amodei elaborated on the potential risks associated with AI technology, acknowledging a 10 to 25 percent likelihood of catastrophic outcomes for human civilization. However, he also highlighted a more optimistic scenario, with a 75 to 90 percent chance of successful AI development and deployment without significant harm.

Despite Anthropic’s promising trajectory, it faces legal challenges. The company was hit with a lawsuit by Universal Music Group and other major record labels on October 18.
