In the latest twist to the Boeing saga, the aircraft manufacturer admitted to falsifying records related to the inspection of its 787 Dreamliner plane. It also announced that there will be yet another federal investigation into the company.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has launched a new probe into Boeing following the company's admission of possible lapses in required inspections. The probe is centered on whether Boeing employees falsified records pertaining to critical safety checks. The allegations went public following a Wall Street Journal report.

Boeing's assembly plant in North Charleston, S.C., faces specific scrutiny as the location where the reported instances of record falsification took place.

Boeing’s flagship 787 Dreamliner jet is once again facing federal scrutiny and public concern. 

This development marks another chapter in Boeing's ongoing saga of safety lapses and regulatory challenges.

Boeing's admission is evidenced by an internal memo written by Scott Stocker, Boeing's 787 vice president and general manager. 

The memo detailed an incident where a Boeing employee flagged irregularities in a required test. This led to the discovery of multiple policy violations. 

Boeing claims that the misconduct posed no immediate safety risk But the incident raises serious questions about the company's commitment to quality control and adherence to safety protocols.

This latest revelation adds to Boeing's mounting problems. It will almost certainly increase the time the company will remain under the microscope of various federal investigations. And may begin another round of Congressional hearings.

Safety Issues and Whistleblower deaths

 Since January, when an Alaska Airlines flight experienced structural issues attributed to a manufacturing error, Boeing's safety practices have faced heightened scrutiny. 

Concerns about whistleblower deaths, including that of John Barnett, a former quality control engineer at Boeing, have only deepened public distrust in the company's safety culture.

Barnett's death was ruled a suicide. Less than 2 months later, Joshua Dean, another whistleblower who worked for Spirit AeroSystems, a Boeing supplier, also died under suspicious circumstances.
