Perhaps all Democrats are not morally bankrupt. In a somewhat shocking turn of events, Chelsea Clinton took to Twitter to defend the President's youngest son, Barron Trump.

Kids Are Always Off Limits

Clinton's defense of Barron Trump came in response to an inappropriate Daily Caller piece, which reads as follows:

"The youngest Trump doesn't have any responsibilities as the president's son, but the least he could do is dress the part when he steps out in public."

First and foremost, the Daily Caller ought to be ashamed of themselves. We, as conservatives, are supposed to hold ourselves to a higher standard. This means not posting hit pieces about the casual attire of an 11-year-old. Also, Barron is a child and under no obligation to wear a suit and tie each time he goes out.

Chelsea Clinton's Defense

After the unbecoming remarks about Barron Trump, Chelsea Clinton took to Twitter, posting the following remarks:

"It's high time the media & everyone leave Barron Trump alone & let him have the private childhood he deserves."

"Dear Matty-Barron is A KID. No child should be talked about in the below manner-in real life or online. And for an adult to do so? For shame."

For as much as the Clinton family is censured, Chelsea Clinton deserves accolades for defending Barron Trump. It really is surprising that a conservative publication chose to attack an 11 year old. Regardless, thank you Chelsea Clinton for doing the right thing.

Moreover, the Daily Caller missed the golden rule of politics. First, children are always off limits. This transcends policy, partisanship, etc. Writers at the Daily Caller would do well to remember this.

A Thank You From Melania Trump

Apparently, First Lady Melania Trump agreed with Chelsea Clinton. A few hours after Clinton's tweets, the First Lady posted the following:

"Thank you @ChelseaClinton - so important to support all of our children in being themselves! #StopChildhoodBullying"

Bipartisan Unity

Although liberals and conservatives disagree on a plethora of issues, the fact that most of us agree on the fundamentals is reassuring. However, people may differ on reform and policy issues is fine, but the greater equalizer is that children are always off limits. One can only hope that the Daily Caller and other publications will refrain from posting pieces that mirror the aforementioned article.

Call To Action

In light of the Daily Caller's inappropriate article regarding Barron Trump, it would be quite appropriate for them to retract the piece and issue an apology to Barron and his parents. Will this occur? Only time will tell.
