Las Vegas police executed a high-stakes raid on Monday night (July 17) concerning the unsolved murder of iconic rapper Tupac Shakur.

The raid commenced around 10 PM EST, when officers demanded the occupants of the Henderson property exit with their hands raised in a dramatic face-off.

Tupac’s 1996 murder has long been shrouded in mystery. And the theory remains that Tupac’s death was the result of a fierce rivalry between “East Coast” and “West Coast” hip-hop factions.

The gangsta rappers best known at the time were Tupac from Los Angeles and Christopher “Biggie Smalls” Wallace from New York. Both artists tragically fell victim to gangland-style slayings within a mere six months of each other.

The search warrant execution involved a stand-off and a raid. Officers used megaphones to issue commands to the individuals within the property.

The Associated Press reported that a man and a woman were seen stepping outside the house, surrounded by police vehicles, including cruisers and SWAT teams, with their lights illuminating the scene.
