On Monday, Attorney General Jeff Sessions vocalized his concerns regarding the apparent lack of free speech on college campuses, reports The Hill.

An Overview of Sessions’ Remarks

Throughout the attorney general’s statements, he affirmed the Trump administration’s support for freedom of speech in America. Sessions also stated that the Justice Department maintains concerns regarding the oppression of free speech on certain college campuses:

“Make no mistake, this Department of Justice is concerned about the suppression of speech that is now occurring. Defending the Constitution, defending civil rights, doing justice, compels this Department of Justice to defend the right to speech, expression, religion, press, petition, and assembly. And defend these rights we will.”
