In a high-stakes legal showdown, NBCUniversal, its streaming arm Peacock, and production company Ample Entertainment are facing a $100 million defamation lawsuit from music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. The lawsuit, filed Wednesday in New York state court, accuses the media giants of prioritizing profits over journalistic integrity by airing a documentary filled with “salacious lies and conspiracy theories” about Combs.
A Blockbuster Documentary—or a Blatant Smear Campaign?
At the center of the controversy is “Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy,” a documentary that premiered in January. The film alleges that Combs was involved in serial murder, sexual assault of minors, and other grave crimes—claims Combs calls “baseless and reckless.”
One of the most incendiary accusations suggests that Combs orchestrated the murder of his ex-partner and mother of his children, Kimberly Porter. However, according to the lawsuit, the Los Angeles County Coroner ruled her death as natural, with no evidence of foul play.
