At his arrest he was wanted for LaPere’s murder, a gun theft, and was sought in an attempted murder/rape/arson investigation.
That initial report was listed as an ‘Arson Investigation.” But sources confirmed more details and said Billingsley was the believed suspect.
A Baltimore Police spokesperson said:
“Evidence gathered through the course of the initial investigation by detectives was able to connect the suspect Billingsley to the homicide of Pava LaPere and the Sept. 19 case.”
“Multiple warrants have been issued for Billingsley and detectives continue to work with all of our law enforcement partners in apprehending him. Additionally, detectives are now reviewing all cases since October 2022, to the present day in order to determine any other connections.”
Sources say investigators believe Billingsley also stole a gun in another, separate case, prompting the gun theft warrant.
According to the BPD, a week before LaPere’s murder, officers responded to reports of a house fire in the 800 block of Edmondson Avenue.
