Iranian and International Reactions

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi condemned the strikes as a “heinous act” and warned of “everlasting consequences,” asserting Tehran would retaliate. Iran’s ambassador to the UN demanded an emergency meeting to address the act as an illegal use of force.

Despite Iran’s protest, the International Atomic Energy Agency confirmed no off-site radiation spikes.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres voiced alarm:

“There is a growing risk that this conflict could rapidly get out of control—with catastrophic consequences for civilians, the region, and the world.”

The UK’s Prime Minister Keir Starmer, while supporting non-proliferation, urged restraint. Russia and China criticized the legality of the action, while Iran reportedly coordinated with Moscow following the attack.
