Following the 911 call, responding officers arrested Sablan. A federal indictment reveals that the girl was walking in San Antonio on July 6 when a man in a silver-colored Nissan, later identified as Sablan, brandished a black handgun and threatened her. Sablan allegedly drove the girl from San Antonio to Long Beach, sexually assaulting her multiple times during the journey. In Sablan’s vehicle, police found a black BB gun and handcuffs.
Sablan’s Charges and Upcoming Arraignment
Sablan has been charged with kidnapping and transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity. His arraignment is scheduled for Monday, July 31.
“I’m shocked, but happy because the police rescued her,” said a relieved Vong, lauding the heroic efforts of the Texas kidnapped girl and the good samaritan that led to the rescue.
