Battalion Chief Joe Ostrander, of the Tri-State Fire Protection District, confirmed the chaotic scene of the shooting in Willowbrook, a suburban area located around 21 miles west of Chicago.
Around 12:30 a.m., amid the jubilant cheers and celebrations, an unexpected violent outbreak marred the peace on Route 83 near Honeysuckle Rose Lane.
The large crowd assembled for the celebration found itself amidst a shower of bullets, transforming the festive scene into a tableau of fear and confusion.
