The company already started testing its satellites in Canada and the U.S. before its expansion into the U.K. and other countries. SpaceX prices Starlink satellite internet service at $99 a month.

Starlink satellites are capable of delivering download speeds of more than 100 megabits per second (Mbps). The company previously explained that such download speed is “fast enough to stream multiple HD movies at once and still have [the] bandwidth to spare.”

Offering small companies an affordable ride to orbit

Musk was cheerful about the launch. In a tweet, he wrote, “Launching many small satellites for a wide range of customers tomorrow. Excited about offering low-cost access to orbit for small companies!”

According to SpaceX, the rideshare model can now help small space companies and startups build out their own operational on-orbit constellations faster, and cheaper. Furthermore, the company’s latest mission followed a Wednesday launch, where SpaceX added 60 Starlink internet satellites in orbit.
